It was confirmed this afternoon that the ‘All-Ireland’ Heineken Cup semi-final between Leinster and Munster will kick-off at 3pm at Lansdowne Road on Sunday, April 23 with a place in the 11th Heineken Cup final at stake.

The first Heineken Cup semi-final, between French champions Biarritz Olympique Pays Basque and 1998 champions Bath Rugby, will be played on Saturday, April 22 in San Sebastian.

The Leinster v Munster clash takes place on the same afternoon as the Allianz Football League Final at Croke Park. According to a GAA spokesperson, that decider is unlikely to be moved due to the Championship's kick-off soon after, and the showpiece's status as a national final.

The clash will make April 23 a bumper day for armchair sports fans, as the second of the FA Cup semi-finals, the London Marathon and the San Marino Grand Prix all also take place that afternoon.
