Dawson: Picking Jonny was a mistake

England scrum-half Matt Dawson has criticised head coach Clive Woodward’s selection of Jonny Wilkinson for the first Test on the British and Irish Lions’ tour of New Zealand.

Wilkinson was still returning from a long-term injury when he was selected at centre for the Test against the All Blacks, despite only having played part of one tour match against Wellington in that position.
