Thomas handed Lions captaincy

Gareth Thomas has been appointed British and Irish Lions captain for the remainder of their New Zealand tour.

Thomas replaces Brian O’Driscoll, whose tour was ended by a dislocated shoulder suffered just a minute into the Lions’ first-Test defeat to the All Blacks.
