Popham on Wales bench

Llanelli back row Alix Popham has been named as Wales’ replacement for Ryan Jones in tomorrow's clash with Canada in Toronto.

Jones has been called up by the British and Irish Lions following concerns over the fitness of Scotland number eight Simon Taylor, who is being troubled by a persistent hamstring injury.

Popham will win his 11th Welsh cap when he packs down alongside Jonathan Thomas and Colin Charvis at the York Stadium.

Brent Cockbain will provide cover on the bench.
