Injury blow for Scotland
Scotland caretaker coach Frank Hadden’s preparations for the double-header against the Barbarians and Romania have suffered another injury blow.
Glasgow Rugby centre Andy Craig has been forced to withdraw with a groin injury after undergoing a scan yesterday.
He has been ordered to rest and will play no further part in Scotland’s training sessions and the Scotland boss has yet to name a replacement.
Hadden – who was handed temporary control of the national team following the sacking of Matt Williams – has already been forced to make changes.
Jason White of Sale Sharks and Worcester Warriors’ Ben Hinshelwood were forced out of training with a broken thumb and back problem respectively and were replaced by Paul Dearlove and Ben MacDougall.
Newcastle Falcons lock Stuart Grimes again sat out of training today to rest the knee and shoulder injuries he has been carrying with a view to being fit and available for selection for both games, while Edinburgh Rugby lock Fergus Pringle joined the squad today for training.
