Scotland captain Gordon Bulloch has declared he is desperate to repay coach Matt Williams’ faith in him.

Scotland captain Gordon Bulloch has declared he is desperate to repay coach Matt Williams’ faith in him.

Results have been poor under the Australian and the hooker feared he might have to hand back the armband.

But Bulloch is now in his second spell as skipper of the national side and is determined to get the RSB 6 Nations campaign off to a good start in France next week.

He said: “We have been through a really tough time over the past year or two so there is only one direction we can go.

“The players have the utmost faith in Matt’s abilities as a coach and we have our hearts and minds set on getting our act together, starting in Paris.

“We know we can win the ball and get ourselves into the danger areas.

“What we must concentrate on is turning pressure into points.”
