Lansdowne stay bottom of the table
Lansdowne 10 County Carlow 24
Lansdowne will see 2004 in as the AIB League Division One's bottom side after Richie Murphy inspired County Carlow to a win at Lansdowne Road.
The former Greystones fly-half kicked three penalties, a conversion and a drop goal as Ray Ward's men were rewarded with their first win of the season.
Two penalties from Murphy, who kicked six penalties and a drop in Carlow's last minute 23-21 loss to Buccaneers last week, and Russell Armstrong's converted try saw the midlanders to a 13-3 half-time lead.
Andy Tallon had notched Lansdowne's sole score, and the Dubliners were to offer little in the second half bar Fiachra Baynes' 20-metre sprint over try.
Loosehead prop Padraig Brennan muscled over for their second try to confirm Carlow's first AIL success since the middle of March.
