Trio sit out Scotland session
Scotland coach Matt Williams today rested three key members of his squad as a precaution ahead of the second autumn Test against Japan at McDiarmid Park on Saturday.
Borders scrum-half Chris Cusiter did not join training due to a sore throat.
His professional club team-mate Scott MacLeod was resting an ankle injury, while Edinburgh Gunners’ Chris Paterson sat out the session with a bruised left leg.
But Scotland team doctor James Robson is confident all three will resume training tomorrow.
He said: “We felt it made sense for all of them to sit out today’s session as a precaution.
“Hopefully, they will all be able to resume training tomorrow.”
