Gordon D’Arcy has been ruled out of the Ireland squad for the autumn Test with South Africa.

D’Arcy had a scan and the results showed he had picked up a groin muscle injury.

The injury has ruled D’Arcy out of the autumn Test with the Springboks at Lansdowne Road on November 13.

D’Arcy was originally named in the squad earlier today but the injury has since ruled him out.

A statement from the Irish Rugby Football Union read: “D’Arcy will visit a groin specialist at the end of the week to determine a course of treatment.

“Following this consultation, more information regarding the injury may be available.”
