London Irish flanker Kieron Dawson has been ruled out for three months after injuring his knee in last Saturday’s Zurich Premiership defeat against Leeds.

Dawson subsequently underwent a scan, which revealed damage to his medial ligament and medial hamstring muscle.

Although surgery will not be required to repair the damage, he is not expected to play again until January.

Dawson is the latest addition to Irish’s long-term injury list, joining wing Paul Sackey (ankle), scrum-half Darren Edwards (cheek), hooker Adrian Flavin (neck) and flanker Peter Poulos (knee).
