John Hayes rejoins Bruff

Ireland and Munster's John Hayes has rejoined Bruff, the county Limerick club where he started his rugby career.

Hayes is currently on tour with the Irish team in South Africa. He came up through the Bruff underage structure and went to New Zealand for a spell before joining Shannon on his return.

His brother Tom, who won All Ireland U16 and U18 All Ireland medals with Bruff, captained Shannon to win the AIL earlier this year and his other brother Mike also played with Bruff before joining Shannon. He is now affiliated to Bruff as a Munster referee.

Commenting on the signing Bruff president, David O’Keeffe said: “We are absolutely over the moon that John Hayes has decided to sign for Bruff. It is a great boost to us facing our first season of senior rugby in the AIL Division 3.

“We hope this will encourage the 10 other players who came up through the club's underage structure and now playing with other senior clubs to return."
