Williams makes Paterson switch
Scotland head coach Matt Williams has handed captain Chris Paterson the full-back berth for the final RBS 6 Nations game against Ireland on Saturday.
Paterson will start at 15 at Lansdowne Road in a move which has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks.
Dan Parks will begin at stand-off in place of Paterson a week after many expected Williams to make the same selection against France.
Derrick Lee drops to the replacements’ bench to allow his skipper to take over the number 15 jersey against the Irish.
Williams will give flanker Cameron Mather as much time as necessary to recover from a chest and shoulder injury but has named Allister Hogg at number seven as well.
Ben Hinshelwood and Simon Cross will travel with the team to Dublin as cover for injuries.
