Brian O'Driscoll has been named as Ireland captain for the 2004 Six Nations team, though his participation in the sqaud's preliminary training camp on Februaury 2-6 is subject to fitness.

O’Driscoll sustained a hamstring injury while on Heineken Cup duty for Leinster earlier this month and despite being back on the training field he has yet to be given the all-clear to resume playing.

Five players have been named as vice-captains: Reggie Corrigan, Anthony Foley, David Humphreys, Paul O’Connell, Ronan O’ Gara.

The squad of 34 to take part in a preliminary RBS Six Nations championship training camp in Dublin from February 2 to 6, is:
