O’Connor voted player of the month

Ex-Connacht & Ireland A flanker Johnny O’Connor of London Wasps has been voted Zurich Premiership Player of the Month for December by a panel of 10 judges made up from members of the rugby media.

Open-side flanker O’Connor was also voted the Man of the Match for the London Wasps 41-0 defeat of Saracens on December 21 at the Causeway Stadium.

In a quiet month for English domestic rugby, O'Connor started only one of Wasps' two Zurich Premiership games, both victories, against Saracens and Sale Sharks.

The former Corinthians, Galwegians & Connacht player though was also in good form as Wasps opened their Heineken Cup campaign with wins over Perpignan and Calvisano, and has given veteran flanker Paul Volley stern competition for a starting role with the English champions.
