Banbridge’s reliable full back Daniel Sopher hit over five penalties for his side’s scores but Wanderers were the more adventurous outfit throughout today’s game as tries from wing Dan O'Sullivan and James Ferris put the home side on their way, as out-half David Quigley also hit over two conversions and a penalty.

Twenty-three-year-old centre Simon Bowen confirmed Wanderers’ fifth win of the season with a late block down try as they move up to sixth in the table.

One-time league leaders ‘Inst slipped up at Judge’s Road this afternoon, as City of Derry condemned John Gardiner’s side to a 19-13 loss, their second defeat of the campaign.

Ninth-placed Derry moved up one spot in the league table following their two-try win. Inst’s Darren Dunlop edged the visitors closer with two second-half penalties for a bonus point but that was as close as they got.

Old Wesley took their fifth win of the season away from Donnybrook and their second bonus point as they scored four tries in beating Ballina 32-8.

Centre Ivan Dunne and captain Stephen Melville both scored as full back Mick Lavelle ended the game with a brace of tries.

Elsewhere Clonakilty defeated Naas 22-19 for their third win of the season. Portadown enjoyed home success against Corinthians (14-6), as did six-try Queens’ (46-13 v Connemara).

Greystones moved ominously into fourth with a 38-17 beating of Skerries and Highfield took over second spot from Instonians following their 39-10 win at Suttonians.
