Galwegians climb off bottom beating Lansdowne
Galwegians 25 Lansdowne 24
Plucky Galwegians came from an eight-point half-time deficit to take the scalp of Lansdowne 25-24 and move off the bottom of the AIB League Division One this afternoon.
The Connacht club were 18-10 down at the break, with out-half David Delaney converting John Cleary’s first try and adding a penalty.
Winger Cleary ended the game with two tries as did full back Ger Brady as the young Galwegians side scored double the amount of tries they had already mustered in their previous five games.
Lansdowne skipper Enda Bohan and full back Richard Dolan replied with efforts for the Dublin club, with Dolan converting his own effort and adding four penalties.
Following two debilitating defeats against UCD and Belfast Harlequins in the last three weeks, a third sees Lansdowne third from bottom.
