Six-try Buccs demolish Dolphin
Buccaneers 47 Dolphin 16
(HT: Buccaneers 25 Dolphin 3)
In what was the first ever meeting between these two side in eleven years of the AIL, Buccaneers hit promoted Dolphin for six as they earned a 47-16 win, adding to previous victories over Garryowen and neighbours Galwegians to put themselves into the top four.
Hooker John Fogarty scored two tries as the home side held a 25-3 advantage at the break.
Dolphin's John O'Mahony proved to be his side's only scorer with the boot, before wing Mike Pettman managed to touch down in the second-half.
O'Mahony hit two more penalties and converted Pettman's effort after the break, but further tries from Buccs' wide men Wayne Munn and Ted Robinson, David Kelly and Gareth Halligan saw off the Cork side's challenge.
