Healey on way home

Austin Healey’s brief World Cup stint ended today after England backs Josh Lewsey and Iain Balshaw were declared fit.

Leicester utility back Healey arrived in Australia early yesterday as precautionary injury cover for both players, and did not officially join the squad.

He will return home today, with Lewsey and Balshaw both available for selection to face World Cup semi-final opponents France in Sydney on Sunday.

Wasps full-back Lewsey has had a hamstring problem, while wing Balshaw had a sore knee.

England head coach Clive Woodward plans to announce his starting line-up in the early hours of tomorrow morning, Irish time.
