Gatland lands honour in England

Wasps’ Warren Gatland has been named the Zurich Premiership’s top director of rugby for last season.

Gatland led the London side to the championship last season and he was rewarded for that achievement at an awards ceremony tonight.

Gloucester captain Jake Boer was named overseas player of the season while team-mate James Forrester collected the young player of the year trophy.

Harlequins’ Jason Leonard collected the award for his outstanding contribution to rugby while Vernon Neve-Dunn of Southwark Tigers was given the unsung hero of the season award.
