Jonah Lomu has ruled himself out of New Zealand's domestic rugby season due to lingering after-effects from his kidney disease.

Last month, Lomu, awaiting a kidney transplant, tried a comeback with Wellington in an attempt to be considered for New Zealand's World Cup squad, but managed only one half of football.
