Canada’s World Cup chances were given a huge boost on Tuesday when it was announced captain Al Charron had passed a fitness test and will be part of the squad in Australia.

The 36-year-old underwent knee surgery in June and it was feared he would not be able to lead the Maple Leafs Down Under.
