Quinnell gets six match ban

Cardiff second row forward Craig Quinnell, sent off for stamping in the Celtic League match against Glasgow Rugby last Friday, has been suspended for six matches by the Welsh Rugby Union disciplinary committee.

Under Celtic Rugby regulations any disciplinary case is heard by the union of the player concerned.

The Wales international lock will miss the Celtic League matches against Connacht, Borders, Leinster Lions, Llanelli Scarlets and Neath-Swansea Ospreys as well as the Celtic Cup quarter-finals on October 3.

Quinnell will be free to resume playing on October 26.
