Ulster centre Jonathan Bell has been forced to withdraw from Ireland’s warm weather training camp in Bilbao this week.

Bell, named yesterday in the 30-man Irish World Cup squad, was due to fly out tomorrow to northern Spain with the rest of the party, but will be left behind to receive treatment for an ankle injury.

Bell, who is being replaced on the trip by fellow Ulsterman Paddy Wallace, joins Leinster’s Shane Horgan and Munster duo John Hayes and John Kelly as the Irish World Cup players remaining at home for treatment.

Justin Fitzpatrick, Tyrone Howe and Gordon Darcy replace them.
