Spooner snapped up by Sharks

Former Leinster Lion out-half, Nathan Spooner, deemed surplus to requirements in Donnybrook at the end of last season, has just been snapped up by South African side, Natal Sharks.

Former Leinster Lion out-half, Nathan Spooner, deemed surplus to requirements in Donnybrook at the end of last season, has just been snapped up by South African side, Natal Sharks.

Spooner was instrumental in helping Leinster to the inaugural Celtic League title and also played a central role in their run to the semi-final of last year's Heineken Cup.

The 27-year-old Spooner will be available for the remainder of the 2003 ABSA Currie Cup season as understudy in the No.10 jersey to Springbok Butch James.
