The Welsh Rugby Union today claimed that “four or five senior players” were behind this week’s last-minute pay talks that resulted in the national squad missing their flight to New Zealand.

The Welsh Rugby Union today claimed that “four or five senior players” were behind this week’s last-minute pay talks that resulted in the national squad missing their flight to New Zealand.

WRU general manager Steve Lewis insisted the players refused to discuss the issue with him in the final days before they were due to leave on tour and adding that most of the squad were “embarrassed” by the incident.
