Rotherham confirmed as Premiership club

Rotherham’s return to the Zurich Premiership was today sealed by England Rugby Ltd and welcomed with a “sheer sense of relief” by the club’s chairman Jim Kilfoyle, who has battled for the last two years to bring top-flight rugby back to the town.

The National League One crown was secured more than three weeks ago, but it was only after Premier Rugby had taken a second look at the case that Rotherham had their promotion back to the Premiership rubber-stamped.
