Hinshelwood returns for Scotland
Worcester centre Ben Hinshelwood returns to the Scotland international fold for the first time since November.
The 26-year-old fractured his left leg with his club in the game against Otley in January and was forced to miss the RSB Six Nations after impressing in the autumn Test series.
Hinshelwood said: “I’ve been training for the last couple of months with Scotland’s itinerary very much in mind and I’m delighted to be back in the squad.”
Simon Danielli is omitted from the squad due to a shoulder injury which will require an operation.
But Scotland coach Ian McGeechan believes the Bath winger will be ready for the World Cup.
He said: “I have spoken to him and told him to go ahead with the operation so that he will be fully recovered to join our World Cup training programme.”
Glasgow Warriors Roland Reid also gets the opportunity to stake a claim for the World Cup after a series of niggling injuries this season.
