Lansdowne clinch home semi-final
Lansdowne 34, Galwegians 31
Matt Leek was Lansdowne’s match-winner yet again as he dropped a goal with the final kick of the match to clinch five points for the home side and with it, a home semi-final.
Galwegians built up an early 10-0 lead before Lansdowne moved up a gear with three tries in the second quarter to turn around 19-17 to the good.
Although they had little to play for, Galwegians fought back strongly after the break, with Eric Elwood among their try-scorers as they built up a 31-19 lead after an hour.
However, Lansdowne finished the stronger with tries from Stephen O’Connor and Killian Kennedy, one of which Leek converted to level the scores.
