Bishop undergoes ankle surgery

Ireland international Justin Bishop underwent surgery on his broken ankle in a London hospital on Wednesday night.

In a medical bulletin issued this afternoon, the surgeon who operated on Bishop, said that the operation was a success.

While the fibula is broken, the ankle joint is better than anticipated.

The London Irishman is expected to make a full recovery in time to take part in pre-season training and friendly matches.
