UCD alleviated fears of relegation by accounting for Blackrock College in a poor encounter at Belfield.

After a lethargic opening half Eoghan Hickey put College in front with a 40 metre penatly after 47 minutes.

From the restart the students immediatelry got a try when David Blaney sent Leinster flyer, Brian O'Riordan, accorss the 'Rock line.

Des Dillon and Paddy Hickey-Dwyer then combined to send winger Philip Breedin over in the corner to effectively wrap up the contest.

Blackrock managed to register on the scoreboard when replacement Geoff McEvoy barged his way over in injury time.

Connor Kilroy added the conversion.
