Leinster forced to change
Leinster make two changes to the team to face Montferrand in France on Saturday, as Matt Williams‘ side attempt to consolidate their position at the top of their pool.
Prop Paul Wallace suffered a recurrence of an old ankle injury last week, meaning Emmet Byrne returns to the team for the first time in more than a year, while Eric Miller returns to the back row in place of Aidan McCullen.
There is a slight doubt over the fitness of Malcolm O’Kelly, who has a back strain, but Williams reckons he has a 60-40 chance and has made the decision to fly him over with the squad of 22.
Leinster have yet to win in France but captain Reggie Corrigan is not overly concerned.
He said: “It‘s a monkey we would like to get off our backs but it hasn‘t really been bugging us that much.”
The Leinster team features nine of the starting Irish 15 who defeated world champions Australia at the beginning of the month while Gordon D’Arcy, Brian O’Meara and Leo Cullen have also tasted top level rugby for the country.
