Former Bok retires from rugby
Ulster's former Springbok back row forward Robbie Brink has been forced to retire from rugby because of a troublesome shoulder injury.
Brink underwent surgery on his right shoulder last year, but he fell on that same shoulder at training last week, which saw rumours emerge that the 32-year-old was at the end of his career.
Sadly, those rumours were confirmed on Thursday evening. "I've had 10 operations in my career for a variety of injuries," said a disappointed Brink.
"I basically had a gun held to my head. I was told that I could play on, but I risked serious and permanent damage."
"I've had a great time here (Ulster). It's a very professional set-up and it's been great being around guys like Bad Boy Bros Warren (Brosnihan) and Robbie (Kempson). Solly's got a good thing going here, and I'm sad to be missing out on it."
