Gloucester in talks with Roncero
Gloucester are negotiating a two-year-deal with Argentinian prop Rodrigo Roncero.
The 25-year-old, a doctor and club player from Buenos Aires, has been targeted by Nigel Melville as the ideal replacement for Italian prop Federico Pucciarello, who is joining Bourgoin.
Roncero is expected to sign a deal inside the next 24 hours and joining Kingsholm will be his first taste of professional rugby.
But Melville, Gloucester’s director of rugby, was impressed with Roncero, who paid his own way out to South Africa for a trial during the club’s pre-season tour.
