Former Meath football star Graham Geraghty has confirmed that he is to sign for Longford AIL rugby side Buccaneers.

The retired Royals star, 29, was also sought by Drogheda United to play soccer but he has opted to try his luck with the oval ball.

Geraghty had been called up to the Irish International Rules squad earlier this week but it is unlikely he will now take part.

The Meath man announced his retirement after defeat to Donegal in the All-Ireland qualifiers last month.
