Serge Betsen ran over after a well-worked France move and Merceron duly converted.

Merceron added to France's tally with two penalties.

Ireland skipper Keith Wood has gone over for a try in his first Six Nations outing of the year against France in their Six Nations clash in Paris.

However, David Humphreys failed to make the conversion.
