Shannon have ensured that they will stay at the top of AIL Division One with a 14-6 victory over Clontarf at Castle Avenue.

In atrocious conditions at the Dublin venue, the home side had a 6-0 lead at the break courtesy of two Jimmy Dempsey penalties.

However, Shannon took the initiative after the break with the aid of a very strong wind and two Tom Cregan penalties left the sides level with 10 mins

to go.

Fiachra O'Laughlin wrapped up the game for the Limerick side with a try six minutes from time and a further Tom Cregan penalty in the dying moments ensured the win.
