AIB League: Students shade it by slender margin

UCD 21, Terenure 20 (full-time)

A 61st minute try from full-back Dermot O'Sullivan was the key to UCD's slender win over Terenure College at Belfield.

For much of the game it looked as though the more aggressive Terenure side would come through.

Two first-half tries from their outstanding second row Dermot Quinn were crucial in giving them an 18-12 lead.

Once again, College's backs were their main route to the tryline and right-wing Stuart McCarron and left-wing Paddy Hickey-Dwyer got over in the first half.

Eoin Hickey, for UCD, and Richard Governey exchanged early second-half penalties before O'Sullivan's quick-thinking saw him chip in behind a flat Terenure defence and collect the rolling ball for the match-winning try.
