Rugby: Wales make three changes for Aussie clash

Wales coach Graham Henry has made three enforced changes for Sunday’s Millennium Stadium clash against the world champions Australia.

Wing Anthony Sullivan (shoulder), centre Allan Bateman (hamstring) and prop Iestyn Thomas (broken toe) are all sidelined after being injured during Wales’ 51-7 victory over Tonga three days ago.

Experienced Llanelli wing Wayne Proctor is recalled instead of Sullivan to make his first international start for three years, while promising Cardiff centre Jamie Robinson takes over from Bateman alongside Iestyn Harris in midfield.

Ebbw Vale prop Thomas, who was hurt early in the Tonga game, sees his position filled by Cardiff loose head Spencer John.

With John and Robinson promoted off the bench, Henry has drafted in Neath prop Duncan Jones and Newport centre Andy Marinos among the substitutes.

Both players have produced impressive recent performances for Wales A, displays which underpinned their elevation into the senior 22.
