The British and Irish Lions side has been hit by two more injuries ahead of Saturday’s game against the Queensland Reds.

Hooker Phil Greening has not recovered properly from his muscle injury and has been forced to drop out of the rest of the tour having never played a game.

Greening tore knee ligaments in a training session with the Lions and it has not healed sufficiently to allow him continue travelling with the squad, his place has already been taken by Scotland’s Gordon Bulloch.

Meanwhile, Wales’ Scott Quinnell has also picked up a knee injury and will miss Saturday’s game; Martin Corry from England will take his place.

The Australian Super 12 side has also been hit by and injury before the game as their influential captain, John Eales has decided to sit out the game as a precaution ahead of the test series.

Teams for Queensland Reds versus the Lions, Ballymore, Brisbane, Saturday, kick-off 10.30am (BST).

Reds: M Tabrett; J Pelesasa, D Herbert (capt), S Kefu, D McCallum; E Flatley, S Cordingley; N Stiles, M Foley, G Panoho, N Sharpe, M Connors, M Cockbain, D Croft, T Kefu.
