Rugby: St Mary's keep hopes alive
Buccaneers 18 St Mary's College 23
Champions St Mary's kept their hopes of a top four finish alive when a 17 points scoring burst in the final six minutes of the opening half decided this encounter at Moher Road.
Buccaneers did all the running in the opening half but still found themselves 20-3 adrift at the break following tries from Peter McKenna and John McWeeney for Mary's, both of which were converted by Mark McHugh in addition to a penalty.
A depleted Buccaneers side hit back with a Justine Meagher try directly after the restart and they got a fully deserved bonus point when Jimmy Screene crossed for a try eleven minutes form the end of an entertaining clash.
