Three tries for Paul O'Connell helped Young Munster to victory over De La Salle at Kilternan.

The visitors led 22-7 at half-time and were 13-0 up after 15 minutes with O'Connell twice crossing the De La Salle line.

Leinster flanker Declan O'Brien then bridged the gap with a try midway through before Young Munster increased their lead once more with Finbar Hogan striking seven minutes before the beak.

And although DLSP centre Shane Stephens offered his side a brief glimmer of hope with 13 minutes remaining, Young Munster then killed off the game with tries in the last five minutes from O'Connell and Mick Lynch.
