Six Nations: Wales wait on Jones

Wales full-back Stephen Jones has been given until Friday morning to prove his fitness for Saturday's Six Nations Championship clash against Scotland.

Jones missed training yesterday because of a muscle spasm in his lower back, putting Cardiff's Rhys Williams on stand-by.

"Stephen's back is a lot better today and he will be travelling to Scotland with the squad as planned," said Welsh Rugby Union spokesman Lyn Davies.

"A final decision on his fitness will be delayed until tomorrow morning."

Williams started all three of Wales' autumn Tests, but was then dropped for the England game after his form and confidence dipped.

The 20-year-old is scheduled to play in tomorrow night's A international at Myreside, depending on Jones' fitness bulletin earlier in the day.
