Rugby Sevens: England’s sevens bid ends

England’s bid to regain the World Cup Sevens crown was ended in emphatic fashion as they were crushed 33-5 by Australia in their quarter-final clash in Argentina today.

The squad were unable to take advantage of the unexpected Melrose Cup reprieve they were given yesterday by Japan as Wallaby wing Brendan Williams scored four of his side’s five tries.
