Junior Rugby Focus: Newcastle West edge thriller to close gap on Clonmel
A last minute drop goal from Tommy Kelleher earned a 32-29 win. The visitors raced into a 17-5 lead but trailed 22-17 at half time. Senan’s extended their advantage with a converted try, but Newcastle West levelled with two tries and a conversion and Kelliher’s drop goal sealed the win.
Leaders Clonmel made it six wins from six with a 24-5 home win against Muskerry. Tony Cantwell, Mark Corby and Neville Melbourne were Clonmel’s try scorers and Dylan Cadogan converted all three and also kicked a penalty. Stephen Hallissey replied with a try for Muskerry.
