Highfield continue unbeaten run
A draw was a fair result as defences were on top and it was going to be the battle of the kickers that looked like deciding it.
It was an exciting game that kept the large attendance on their toes right to the finish.
Shane O’Riordan opened the scoring with a penalty after three minutes for the ‘Well who enjoyed the better of the exchanges in the opening half.
Paddy O’Toole had the home side level with a penalty nine minutes later.
Alex O’Neill got in for a ‘Well try on 17 minutes but the score was disallowed for an infringement by the Musgrave Park side.
O’Riordan was off target with two penalty attempts on 21 and 28 minutes to leave the score 3-3 at the break.
O’Toole missed a Highfield penalty two minutes into the second half.
O’Riordan put the ‘Well ahead with a drop goal on 60 minutes and O’Toole levelled with his second penalty eight minutes from time.
In a dramatic finish O’Riordan was off target with a drop goal and O’Toole missed a penalty.
