Cork Con and Young Munster to do battle once again in Munster Junior Cup final
Richmond opened the scoring with a penalty from Brían Bennett but indiscipline that saw two of their players yellow-carded resulted in two tries for Con from Evan Mintern and Jason Higgins. John Poland converted both.
Two Bennett penalties left it 14-9 at the interval. A Bennett penalty and a try by Dean O’Halloran saw Richmond regain the lead at 17-14 only for Poland to level with a penalty.
Richmond were awarded a penalty try which Bennett converted but in the final minute Higgins scored his second try and Poland converted to send the game into extra-time.
Despite Richmond dominating, a penalty in each period by Poland saw Con advance.
