It was a day of shocks in the Bank of Ireland Munster Junior Cup as holders Shannon are knocked out by Cashel and both Muskerry and Midleton lost to sides in a lower division.

A last minute try from Cashel’s Chris O’Donnell which was converted by Ryan O’Donnell gave them a dramatic 13-10 home win over the holders Shannon. The sides were level 3-3 at half time with Ryan O’Donnell kicking a penalty for the Tipperary side and Barry McGorey replying with a drop goal for Shannon.

O’Donnell kicked his second penalty before Shannon took the lead with a try from Bobby Price which Ciaran Cunnane converted. But Cashel pounced in the final minute to setup an away tie against UCC.
