Rockwell’s first-half blitz proves too much for Bandon

Dominant in the first half, Rockwell could afford to ease off the throttle somewhat after the interval as they cruised to a comfortable win in their Munster Schools Junior cup opener yesterday at Clanwilliam in Tipperary.

The decisive tries came from Dylan Farrelly in the second minute, influential scrum-half Oisín Mangan 10 minutes later and Harry Tobin, all converted by out-half Ryan O’Sullivan, giving Rockwell a 21-0 lead at half-time.

Bandon got their only try of the game when Harry Hall touched down in the 57th minute but it was the blues who finished off the scoring when Ryan O’Sullivan was rewarded for his general play by finishing off an intercept move in injury-time, giving them a 19 point advantage.
