Show him the money: Munster have signed a showman in All Black Francis Saili

Today Munster announced the recruitment of Auckland Blues and All Blacks centre Francis Saili.

“A talented centre with an impressive skill-set and he possesses the physical attributes to excel in the Northern Hemisphere,” is Munster head coach Anthony Foley’s view of the 24-year-old, who he believes “will be a great addition to our backline.”

But judging by some of his TV appearances back home, it’s the gaiety of the nation that may benefit most dramatically from Saili’s arrival. Munster supporters will be heartened too that Frank looks the kind of lad who will back himself in unpromising situations.

For instance, modest acting skills proved no obstacle to Saili participating in a whole-hearted recreation of scenes from the movie Jerry Maguire.

Nor did the lack of a note in his head in any way discourage the man from delivering an emotional, snot-wiping version of Adele’s Someone Like You.

He won’t necessarily be leaving the fun and games off the field either. Here he is sailing his showboat before a landing a comedy conversion.
