Neil De Kock wants better discipline from Saracens ahead of Munster clash
De Kock’s side were beaten 24-23 by a last-minute James Hook penalty at Gloucester in the English Premiership on Friday night with the South African bemoaning two yellow cards for his side which handed the Cherry & Whites six shots at goal in front of their Kingsholm faithful.
De Kock said lessons had to be learned by a disappointed Saracens who saw a late Chris Ashton try disallowed for the wing being in front of De Kock’s kick ahead, the subsequent penalty for Gloucester converted from halfway by fly-half Hook.
“There’s frustration for a lot of reasons,” he said. “In the first-half our discipline let us down. Looking at that last decision, it’s a bit of a 50/50 call in my mind, but Gloucester kept hammering away at us... there is massive frustration and disappointment.
“The biggest thing we can take from the game is a bit of education I think. If you put yourself in that position then you are going to have to play catch-up rugby and you put yourself in a position where you make life hard and that’s what we did. ”
Saracens were without fly-half Owen Farrell and captain and second row Alistair Hargreaves against Gloucester, both likely to be fit for Saturday.
Meanwhile Saracens second row George Kruis will face a disciplinary hearing this evening after being cited for a dangerous tackle in Friday’s 24-23 defeat at Gloucester.
Kruis was sin-binned in the 63rd minute of the Aviva Premiership showdown for a tip tackle on wing David Halaifonua.
